  1. RELAX IS THE KEY word. was riding mountain roads at high speds, trying to follow the no brakes format and was suprised at how much less it needs to be used, and the other word i kept sayin tomyself was 'relax' thro the corners, i have a pic of tony elias when whe was leading the race from valentino thro a right hand corner looking ahead and the right arm below parallel to the ground, roling on the trottle thro the corner and was suprised at how quick i was just being aware and observsant of my body. have the pic memorised in my head.relaxing makes such a gr8 difference.the magic word i should say.
  2. was out fer 2 rides over the weekend.sitting even 2 inches back and just 'flickin that arse out without using the barsbut more legs/knees sorted the doubt out fer me.rolling on the throttle is difficult when there are 4 guys ahead of u choppin it.lol.the key fer me is i found it easier thro the switchbacks to shift wt as i enter late and flick it hard in2 the corner and gas the bike .gives me lotsa time to body position fer the next corner ,lotsa vision thro the corner as well. anyway will hone the technique in my css level 3 class.
  3. it seems to me that the gp riders use different hanging off ways fer diff corners, was watching elias in the last portugese gp and i think at the esses he was kinda crossed over /fer better visibiity?i used the swivel fer sometime and i was closer to tank and i could see my face in the mirrors and had chicken stips after fast rides, now i am trying the back long position and have no chicken strips? maybe am faster sitting back. will do some more research and get back. good to see u here killer.cheers
  4. hey killer, on track days and css days both my tyres, once-bridgestones twice pilotpowers were balled to bits. suspension was adjusted to softest settings. on the street on the k6-suspension still bedding in stock settings(hardish) though am faster than before no balling of rear, smooth a lil rough on the edges, but front more traumatised than rear,(street pressures).-bridgestones.have met guys who drop prssures on street whos tyres seem chewed up. with softsettings actuaaly tyres last longer as suspension is working on hard setings tyres bounce wearing em out. going to get my suspension adjusted by my guru before css level 3 (december)and getting pilotpowers, will see what happens also track surface grippier than road .waiting to see what happens.with soft suspension settings and relaxing on bike tyre life was a third more than now. but now using just 3 gears thro twisties to work and back etc.more torque too i guess. anyway keep riding the wheels off and lets keep comparing notes.cheers guys
  5. hanging off .when u shift the body mass how is it done. read elsewhere to swivel around tank/was doing that. and watched a lot of gp videos, riders sat back with body long on the bike and shifted the wt to eitherside, body was in position even before turn in.trying that now.feels comfortable. wats the right technique?anyway am off to do my level3 body positioning course in december. just curious bout body shifting.
  6. greetings keith, met u in easterncreek, and we discused scientology if u remember. i had a sudden dilema 2 weeks ago, which was 'i have stopped using the back brakes and it felt very unnatural to use them' and i went back to twist of the wrist and was relieved to read 'to forget using rear brakes'and am back in my element just using the front. tx
  7. the gsxr 1000 k4,k6.very forgiving and after level 1 and 2 i push the bike to illegal speeds on road as well 220kmph plus daily, following the school precepts and practicing them i find that the bike handles like dream/i think rider error and input contribute to more hazzles than the bike throws at the rider, fer ex i was flying thro a series of corners on the road and was approx 150kmph+ thro a left hander and saw that the apex was wat as it had rained there, just rolled on the gas and as i came up a hill tapered off and braked starightening the bike up and it did not miss a beat, have been caught braking hard at a steep lean angle once and powered out after drifting over the centre line, think if bikes are allowed they helpthemselves .had a vfr, rd350s yam teneres cbr1000f ,but the gixxers have me converted, want the 07 now.one must be stupid to crash the new crop of bikes, the kind of qualities they r endowed with i guess.
