  1. Man you are putting on the miles. That's awesome. I need to the hit the workouts myself. Good luck.
  2. I got rid of it already, but thanks I will keep them in mind. I do have the zip in back protector if anyone can use it.
  3. Wasn't that bad last night. Went back to the Helds and well I will be giving those Built POS gloves to someone.
  4. Aaaaaanywayyyy your reading it up side down evidently.
  5. Personally I find it distracting. I drive 25,000 Miles a year in my work. I keep the radio on in the truck. When thing start getting interesting in traffic I flip the volume down or off. I can't do that on the bike quick and easy like. So I would rather have the undistracted attention when I need it. Beside the voices in my head sing some times when we are on a really good curvy road, and I like it when they get along.
  6. +1 on the Movie. Can't compare with head deep snow, but I have ridden in snow. Keep in mind an inch shuts us down. The temps aren't cold enough here. As soon as cars get on it it packs to a 1/4 of ice. The cities are not ready for it because it only happens once every year or 3. I do ride down into the Middle to low 20's F though. Heated Grips are a great thing.
  7. I had a Dainese that I used up. The zipper finally broke. Now I have an EVS G5 with the kidney belt. I use it for off road. It takes a little getting used to. The fit is tight by design. I think it would keep the armor in the right place in an involuntary get off. If under something else. It is a matter of diminishing return and bulk I think. As T-Mckeen mentioned. Most of these are not design to be compact as it is a development coming from the offroad community. It is an evolution of the old style motocross chest protector/ roost guard. They really had little to do with crash protection, and more to do with rocks thrown by bike in front of you/ roost. Catch a rock the size of a golf ball in the chest at 40 mph. It hurts. The new pressure suits (as the locals call them) started as a marketing thing. Put all your armor on quick. Put your chest, back, shoulder, elbow, protection, and kidney belt on all at once. Then they started adding more padding/CE rated stuff. I would recommend if you go this route that you get one with a one piece chest and not a 2 piece. The sternum protection is much better on the one piece and the load is spread over a much wider area. It isn't as comfortable, but I feel the protection is worth it. I have had both types, and I picked up the EVS quick. Because when suiting up for a dirt ride the Dainese zipper broke. I needed something now and we were meeting at the local Cycle Gear to leave for a night ride in Mid Summer. Still 80* F and 90% humidity at 9 pm. Just MHO.
  8. Thanks for the welcome. I have a meet a few people around here. I hope to learn some new stuff. Maybe I can contribute a little to.

My current rides are An 08 R1200 GS, 09 KLX 250S, 77 R100/7 (going scrambler) Good Friends with ScrmnDuc. So don't hold it against Him. Here is Me on the GS. I only have 2 I could find with us both, and I am shooting a friend a bird in the other one. After picking that pig up all day in the mud, and getting laughed at. So no it's not a pavement queen, and yes it has been to the track too. All on the same tires. This took for ever. I had self edit most of the smart a$$ out. I will do my best to keep that to a minimum for you mods. BTW, I do know my screen name is misspelled.
  10. Hey ktk_ace. Thanks for the advice. I would be cautious recommending Web Bike World. Their Helmet reviews are pretty good but the fitment advice is all over the page. If you look hard enough you will find different shapes listed for the same hat in different places. BTW I am the guy SD was asking for. I ended up with an Aria Signet Q in small. My RF 1000 in an XLarge. I have a longer skinnier head than I thought. I can Highly recommend letting Robert at The Service Pavilion custom fit you.
