  1. Attended my first track school with CSS at Mid-Ohio (Level 1) and am amazed at the grin across my face that still exists as I recall each and every turn. Now its clear why they call it an addiction. Thumbs up to Keith and Dylan on the classroom and a big thanks to James for his appropriate-level insights and thoughts on how to improve. Having attended with a friend who is only slightly more advanced than me greatly helped in that I could leverage some advice given for him. We were surprised at the provision of lunch, food, and fluids (water, coffee, etc) throughout the day. Having always been interested in getting the best possible education in professional arenas I'm glad I applied that to motorcycling as well as its clear the CSS approach fits traditional, proven teaching methodology: Absorb - Apply - Assess. James, our coach, was the critical component to the latter two and did a good job at ensuring they were understood in the post-session one-on-one's. The open-ended questions were key to verifying our understanding. Its seems clear that a return to CSS training/fun is in my future and I look forward to those opportunities to advance even further.
  2. Thanks for the thoughts Kevin. I've gone back and forth on this with rlucas and a guy who's been a long-time corner worker for the CSS mid-Ohio event. This is the only track event I've heard of that didn't make it a requirement and I'm actually really surprised. We both plan to make the change regardless.
  3. Looking forward to seeing you out at MId-Ohio this year. Just finished up the MSF ERC to get some of the basics reinforced in prep for the cornering school this August. Very excited. I'm headed over there with a friend who's worked corners for you for at least a few seasons so I'll have some guidance at least. But I took the written instructions on adjusting the sag in my '05 636 and found them incapable of reaching the 20-30mm for front regardless of the setting. I'm only ~167# w/o gear so I was surprised but perhaps I'm still a bit on the heavy side in relation to the front suspension design. When I meet up with the friend I'm hopeful he'll have tools to work the rear. Anyway, looking forward to the education and experience.
