About Me
Moma said as long as I lived under her roof, I couldn't own a motorcycle. So, I moved out and bought a:
I write plays, musicals and novels. I'm currently working on my first mystery novel about a Ducati riding old guy with muscle problems. For my day job, I help run a small automotive aftermarket company.
I joined the forum and studied Keith Code's work so I wouldn't need to be afraid to lean the bike over a bit, and to get a bit of an edge to make up for my troublesome muscles.
The most important lesson I've learned? Good throttle control makes the bike handle a LOT better!
- Kick start GN400 single cylinder Suzuki. Too twitchy. I was afraid to ride it and ended up crashing.
- Honda 400 twin. I didn't get the point of the cruiser styling and wanted something with more power.
- Honda CB750K. Plenty of power. Comfortable seating position but a nasty seat. Corbin seat was worse.
- Kawasaki Voyager 1200. Great bike! Powerful, comfortable and fast. I hardly got to ride it because that's about the time I started getting sick with spells of weakness and paralysis, migraines and general weirdness.
- 10+ years of emptiness while I sorted out the serious health issues.
- Burgman 650 maxi-scooter. Super easy to ride. Powerful enough. Handles like a middle weight touring bike with a 40-degree lean angle. Crappy seat! Rear tires flat spot after just 3,500 miles. Otherwise a wonderful bike, perfect for someone with ongoing muscle problems and weak spells.
