  1. I run a Penske 3-way on my CBR.. I've had VERY good interaction with Penske. They custom built and sprung my shock specifically to my weight in gear and were very quick to deliver.
  2. I have a bad habit of dragging my toes on right hand corners sometimes (I get lazy in getting my toe on the peg I think) so I generally run the pegs pretty high up on my setup.
  3. Best I've run there is 1:27.2 on my 05 CBR1000RR. Last I heard Tigert still had the lap record at Streets.
  4. I'd love to be a coach for next year Cobie.. I'm curious as to what would be considered fast enough though? I've run 1:27's at Streets but that's the only track I've ridden that the school uses.
  5. Turn 2 at Pahrump. Turn 1 and 2 are about the only place I'm happy with my body position. I'm not sure if it's because I have so long to think about getting there or if I'm just more comfortable in those corners. It could also be that I'm just being lazy moving around on the bike.
  6. Ugly race this year.. Lots of red flags. Toye was just dominating on that Yoshimura Superbike. Was a shame to see Pridmore mechanical out.. since I think he was the only one who had anything for Jeremy.
  7. Yep.. I still am unable to insert an image using the Insert Image button.
  8. Amazing what a year does for you. I'm now a little over a year past my 1st school with you guys. Took another 5 seconds off my fast time at Pahrump and I've dropped my Streets of Willow time down to 1:27.2 thanks to the stuff I've learned and then applied from the school. I WILL be getting back to see you guys soon... -Doug
  9. Hmm.. Things have changed a bit Cobie.. I never got around to doing Phase 2 with you guys (sold out) but I have been improving. I've just completed the WERA racing certification school with Jim Cox at Pahrump this weekend, and have dropped my lap times by over 15 seconds this year alone at this track just by applying the things I learned in Phase 1. Sometimes just going back to basics helps the most. I'd post a picture up but I'm getting errors on the page for some reason and it won't let me.
  10. I'd have to say either Miller (Utah), or Spring Mountain (Pahrump, NV)
  11. My new nemesis.. Turn 4 at Big Willow. The climbing banked blind right hander that switches to decending off-camber at the apex. Well.. that and having the balls to twist the throttle from the exit of 6 all the way through 8. My best time on the big track is 1:38 and I scared myself a couple times. Pretty sickening to watch Jeremy Toye run around it at 1:21 this weekend.
  12. This was taken at Spring Mountain in Pahrump, NV after I had taken Phase 1 at Streets of Willow Springs last April. At 6'4" & 280 lbs, I'm not your average sport bike rider, which I think is why I'm able to get my knee down at a rather shallow lean angle. I think I need to work on getting my body lower on the tank and be a bit more aggressive in turning the bike. Hoping to do Phase 2 this April. -Doug
  13. Hardest corner for me is Lost Hill at Buttonwillow. Relatively fast uphill right hander that switches to an off-camber descending left hander just BEFORE you crest the hill. It's just ugly. I've been off-track there so many times in my Corvette that I've lost count. The first time you nail it though.. it's magic.
  14. Not much else to say that I hadn't said at the track already today. I learned more today than I could have in a year or more of riding. Keith and his staff, and especially my coach Andy were awesome.. It was worth every penny spent, and probably will save me MUCH more money in the long run for parts I DON'T have to buy.. I'll be back for level 2 in October for sure. -Doug
