  1. I did my 1st track day this past June at VIR North. Absolutely love that track. L1/2 would be great there. If you have a chance to get to NJMP, do it. Try to catch a weekend where you can get on both Thunderbolt and Lightning. I've only been on Thunderbolt (3x). They say Lightning is faster, but I prefer technical. Thunderbolt has both. (fast & technical) If you do make it out here, let me know. You can pit with us. We usually have 6-8 guys in our group. We might even hit Beaver next year... Thank's for the heads up on VIR and NJMP ( thank's for the invite ) Beaver Run is about 1/2 hour from me. If you make it out this way drop me a line, the orig. Steak and Lube isn't all that far from the track, it's a fun place to see and EAT as well.
  2. `Thank's for the GREAT write up about the school. I am a fellow Pa. rider ( Steeler Country ) and looking forward to doing L 1/2 at VIR in the spring. What did you think about the track in NJ ? I have a bunch of family out that way a may be looking to do L 3 out there, most likely at Mid-Ohio though.
  3. What I'm getting is READY......Ready for spring 09' to see you guys at VIR for leve 1 & 2.......Ready for school by reading TOTW 1 & 2 over enough it where I know it and learning all I can about the school from being part of this forum. I liked the vid on setting sag, kept it real simple and easy to do with 2 guys. I have a lot of questions answered here with just a little digging around. YEP.......I Like It.
  4. My 03' Honda 954 with a Scotts up top, Traxxion out front, Elka double out back and some Stomp Grip in-between wearing Pilot Power shoes is one great carving bike and comfortable enough for those 400mi twistie excursions through W.V.
  5. Carlos Checa.......He is a fighter that always seems to work his way through the pack and stays in the top 7. Plus I am a Honda guy and the new bike is starting to really show well with Carlos ( and others ) on it. I would say he is my #1 rider to watch.
  6. Does the bike have Stomp Grip on it ? If not you may want to give it a try. My riding partner has it on his 848 and has no issues on the track.
  7. Any early previews of already set school dates for 09'? I am most interested in V.I.R. I will be signing up for level 1&2 and looking to come down from Pa. with most likely 5 or 6 others from my area. I am spearheading the trip and am VERY PSYCHED......Thank's
  8. Thank's for the welcome. No, my kids have other interests but are completely supportive of my sportbiking as is my wife.
  9. I am looking forward to doing the 2 day camp in 09'. I was wondering if both level 1 & 2 are covered at the camp.....Thank's
  10. I am new to track days and I am looking forward to learning all I can and hopefully attending the 2 day camp in 09' at Mid Ohio. I am 51 and have been riding forever, 1st. street then dirt for a number of years ( with my kids as they were growing up ) now for the past 4 years back on the street a lot. Things have changed a whole bunch and I have much to learn. I do many 300+ mi. days in the W.V. twisties and can do pretty well on my 03' 954. I have set it up for my weight via Traxxion and Elka, the Stomp Grip works well as does the Scotts. I always wear full gear and keep my bike in good working order......Glad to be here
