  1. Where was that race at? Under lights? Qutar?
  2. Good idea about putting spoiler, I tried to edit that but didnt seem like that was an option. If you want to edit it or delete the thread cool.
  3. If you watch SBK you know who Haga is, Def 1 of my favorite racers. Today he had back to back excellent performances and looks focused to be a top contender for the season. I've seen him wearing 2 earings one in each ear before. After the races in his interview today he only had 1 in the right ear.
  4. How do you find out which stores stock suomy helmets? I went to suomy's offical website and didnt see anything there. If someone knows please post a link, thanks
  5. How would you guys rate suomy? They are expensive. I am considering buying a vandal and they are around $400. Claims to be the lightest at 1250 grams and have sound absorbing polymers. My main questions are for anyone that has a suomy how do they do with wind noise? Somewhat quieter? Def quieter? Anyones ever whistle? And how do they fit? I mean eveyone got a different size/shape head/face but overall some helments fit nice and snug for most and some are loose. I read you can change out the cheek pads to customize your fit even better. So worth it?
  6. motogp of course rossi is the favorite, but I like pedrosa! Go Repsol!
  7. Thank you. That's what I keep saying (I also keep saying the Texans are going to go undefeated), but he hasn't been able to come through yet. I'm looking for a Pedrosa/Haga win this year. Ya he's super talented. Seems like most of the press will be focused on rossi, hayden, casey at least at first. Pedrosa might steal the show though. Besides he rides the dream machine
  8. Using the wind to gauge speed can be deceptive. Air is also moving. You'd be surprised how well you can hear with ear plugs. I was nervous when I first tried it, but I prefer it now. I have a set of non-disposable that I've had a long time. They're wash and wear :-) I think it would be more deceptive to not be able to hear the wind naturally. Maybe I will try it sometime to see what its like.
  9. I am surprised that alot of you guys use head phones and even earplugs. No matter if your in the city or suburbs with anything in your ears you can't hear sirens, someone beeping, etc. etc. Having all your senses without any hindering seems logically to be the best way to go. Even with ear plugs, hearing wind resistance allows one to gauge to a degree speed. Some helmets really suck and yea create to much noise though.
  10. I would never guess a shoe repair place? What makes you say that?
  11. I've had adjustments made to suits, but usually didn't end up being perfect, just better. C I was wondering if it is cool to do since everyone talks about how important the stiching is. If it is tailord wasnt sure how it would how up or affect performance. My 1 piece is pretty baggy from the knee down, like the shin area mostly. It bunches up in my boots a bit and makes it easier for the knee padding to not be in the right place at times. Also my 1 piece could be tightened up a little in the tricep area. So cobie is there anything special I should tell a tailor to do?
  12. Has anyone tried to buy a 1 piece off the shelf then get it tailored in a few places to make it fit a lil better?
  13. Thanks for letting us know your first hand experience. Glad to hear your ok and the suit did its job.
  14. Especially the guys that live in a city that you cant ride during the winter months, how many times do you go to the track during riding season? If you live in a city/state that it is nice year round specify that to just to be fair.
  15. think about your riding? I dont think that is gonna help nematode out much.
  16. Ya nematode read keiths books it will help you out for sure! I bought 2 books twist of the wrist & twist of the wrist II. I also got the dvd for twist of the wrist. Good stuff!
  17. Ya it is I just did it. If your on this site it should be safe to assume that you read keiths books. He said he didnt know what else to do and was basically asking for a way to get some confidence to give it a go. So you chimmed in but where is your advice?
  18. Thats cool you still ride hard fossil! I respect that!
  19. In response to andy when you say they are not in the same leage that is a big statement and should be followed up with some type of solid facts not jlust they research more. But I do value everyones opinion and feedback or I wouldntve asked no matter what it is. In response to amit you said you looked to see what the guys on motogp was wearing and since you didnt see frank thomas you assumed they werent the brand for you, cool. But the bikes, helmets, tires, suits and just about everything else the guys on motogp use isnt available to the public, most is not mass produced for you to walk into your local store and take off the hanger even though it may be the same name. I do agree with anyone that says that your skin is worth a few hundred more or whatever but what do the rest of you guys think about frank thomas? O and a big thanks to kevin for posting that link! cheers! There was alot of good feedback on that link! I dont think anyone that had frank thomas and went down said that it was junk and didnt do its job.
  20. Andy you say that "They are not in the same league as Aplinestars or Dainese". How so? They both use about 1.2mm-1.4mm leather. How can there be that much difference to not be in the same league? Because they dont advertise and sponsor as much? Thats a big part of what your paying for when you "get what you pay for".
  21. Maybe some new tires can help with your confidence? Just a thought. Might be a placebo fix but whatever works, works! Feel me?
  22. First of all when some people refer to a "track tire" it can mean either a slick that is for only racing or a even a muti purpose tire that is made with the track more in mind (corsa III or 2ct etc). That in my opinion is a huge reference difference of what a track tire is, between what you would use ONLY at the track like a slick and what some people consider to be a more track tire like a corsa III or 2ct, which obviously many also use on the street as well. So when you say "track tire" please be specific so there is no wrong assumption. NOW secondly in another recent thread a few people mentioned that using certain "track tires" on the street isnt smart because they dont heat up to the point where they are sticky? Like which tires? Also NOT that it is important here in this topic but psi was also talked about to help out, again not trying to get into psi AT ALL in this topic though. Now my real question with that in mind is, being that I plan on doing say 3-4 track days a month but since I love riding my bike will be riding it on the street alot in between those, what is a great tire for me? I am open to any name brand? But for example Pirelli has the diablo corsa which they claim is a 70% track and 30% street tire. Does that mean that since the majority of my riding is on the street and highways that it will be hard to take advantage of this tire because it will be to hard to get it to the right temperature? The pirelli rosso says its 30% track and 70% street, does that mean its EASIER to HEAT at lower speeds like on the street where its not quit as intense riding the whole time? Lastly my thing was that I thought that when people refered to "track tires" assuming they were talking about corsa III's & 2ct's etc, that they would be the softest and the stickest and that they heated up the easiest compared to anything else, like all the other harder compounds made for purely/mostly street were people are concerned more with tire longjevity and not pushing it in corners. I rather have the best tires that provide the best grip in any situation even though they may not last long and were for a track day more in mind, but who cares the street is important 2! When I ride street I still practice for the track, I know places where its safe conditions and rarely busy and like to push it through those corners. You can still ride aggressive on the street. But it can be in bewtween some stop signs and red lights, traffic etc so the tire heating ability is imortant. Clarify please. Thanks in advance.
