  1. If your SR's won't allow you to have a higher corner speed, then why not just go deeper into the corner. You can then use the same corner speed you're comfortable with, turn the bike, and now you'll have to turn it more and use up some of that lean angle you have to spare, and overall get thru the corner faster. Then add a little of the pick-up drill on the way out to allow you to get on the throttle earlier and you're alot faster thru the corner and your corner speed never changed...
  2. This track is at the end of the Luke Air Force F-16 air base runway... in what is zoned a potential crash zone. So no houses or business can be built on the property as long as Luke is operating, which is the other thing the developers are after to shut down... not out loud, because that would be unpatriotic in this day and age. But they're doing everything possible to make it more difficult for the base to operate. The blue-hairs are being funded by developers that want to put houses in, otherwise it would have been a non-issue. Its really not about noise. Its about money. I live less than 2 miles from the track, and there's way more noise from the local high school or even a neighbor running a lawn mower.
  3. Also just spoke to Gary at Team AZ and looks like they're canceling the TARRC race weekend Jan 31. Don't know if this also means the track is shutting down all activities until further notice or not. They're working on an injunction to allow them to run, but as of right now, all activities at the track have been shut down.
  4. You can show up wearing shorts, a t-shirt and tennis shoes and they'll rent you the bike and everything you need to ride it. Hard to beat that...
  5. Just an FYI about Arizona Motorsports Park... http://venus.13x.com/roadracingworld/scrip...asp?insert=8270

  7. I tried to quit a couple of years ago. It lasted about 8 weeks. It was miserable. I decided to just take it one day/one race weekend/one track day at a time. That year, I raced when I wanted and when it was convenient. I did track days when they fit into my schedule. But I decided I wouldn't chase championships, because that, for me, seemed to suck the fun out of it. I gotta agree on the formula 40 too. Fast guys, but no one's going to do anything stupid just to get the $5 piece of wood. The racing is close and fast. Most of them have been doing this a very long time. I've come back to just riding for fun again. And it is fun again. You'll know when you're ready to hang it up.
