520 Conversion

I'll assume we're talking about the chain. The number refers to the chain size. Most bikes come with a 525 or 530. Going to a smaller chain means less unsprung weight to put into motion. You would also need to go to 520 sprockets. In the case of my bike and the AFAM sprockets the rear sprocket is now aluminum, also making it lighter. The potential down side is that the aluminum sprocket will wear out faster than steel. Don't know for sure but I think there is something to be said for how effficiently the power gets transfered to the rear wheel with a 520 racing chain and sprockets.
