  1. I would have to say entry speed as well. I know it would be a great benefit to my riding.
  2. Welcome Baileys, glad to have you join us. I can't really add anything new that the others have not already said but you will have a blast and the learning pace will have you comfortable in just a few laps.
  3. That's a tough one. Being involved in the medical field I see and deal with a lot of things like this. Meaning procedures that are suppose to work one way and go flawless yet still cause more problems then anticipated. Our bodies are the most complicated machine out there and although we know a lot about it and can do a lot to repair it. We still, in reality have only scratched the surface on what there is to know and how to do it. I truly hope he is playing possum but won't be surprised if it is for real either.
  4. Glad to see you join us and look forward to answering some questions for you.
  5. I have always stayed on the throttle and let it work it self out.
  6. Good point Cobie. I forgot to add that we did our adjustments during a track day in between sessions. This way we could get a feel for it during actual riding as most of the positions all felt good sitting still. lol It is not till you are riding that you find out if you like it.
  7. Got you covered here Michael, as I have just went through this with the girlfriend and some friends in helping them out with theirs. What we did was climb on the bike, with friends helping hold up the bike we would get into the position of leaning off the bike both ways and adjust them so that my feet and legs sat comfortable while I was in this position. Then we tightened them down. Now you might want to have your comfort while in another position but I just felt like that was where it was most important for me to be comfortable. Hope this helps you out.
  8. I think an "Equipment" section would be a great way to do it. It would work better to have its own section then trying to fit it under one of the three (Announcements, Keith's Corner and Techniques) we have right now, as it does not really fit under any of the other three in my opinion. As far as the pinned threads, I like that idea as well. It helps people find the type of product quick and easy so they can get info or ask new questions they may have about it.
  9. I just talked one of my friends into coming out for his first time and doing levels 1 & 2 at Infineon with me next month. He is all signed up and we are ready to go. We can't wait, it's going to be a blast!
  10. Thanks Dylan, I appreciate the response and great memory of the track for 16 years ago. That is how the couple of people I know who have went described it.This will be my first event at it. I have been looking at the map and watching videos trying to get an idea of the track. It looks like fun and similar to JenningsGP which I ride in that it is visually challenging due to being so flat, the same rough length, although Jennings is more of a technical track with a short straight away.
  11. Hey everyone, just wanted to see if any of you have ever ridden on Roebling Road and if so I wanted to get your thoughts on the track. I am heading there for the first time the end of this month for a couple of days.
  12. Welcome buckeye, glad to see you join us.
  13. Thanks brother. That is one of the lucky things about being in Florida is weather is great most of the time for the track.
  14. Thanks Cobie, I am hoping to add some great ones from March. I am sure Infineon has some amazing picture corners with all the elevation changes.
  15. Welcome to the forums, glad to have you join us.
  16. Couple of pictures to post. Me in Vegas Nov 2008 level 1 & 2 Jan 2009 at JenningsGP riding in the wet with my friend giving chase.
  17. I second Sleeper's comment. Kevin I have to agree, I read them all and respond when I feel I have something I can add or if I can offer something that might help as well as if I am looking for some answers myself.
  18. For me it is the feeling of the drive coming out of the turn. The drive feels so much stronger and the corner also feels effortless when I nail it.
  19. Yes, I went racing, it was great, pretty happy with a fourth place finish, as there were some much faster bikes mixed in the class. And yes, Cobie, you can take the blame for getting me hooked on this expensive sport. CodeRACE was a great preparation, I am SO glad I did that first. And BTW, where is YOUR answer to this burning question about circles? I might have gotten a podium finish if I had known the answer BEFORE the race. Congrats on your fourth place you first time out. Scratching at the podium spots already.
  20. Cobie; There was an exchange awhile ago on Frank Thomas (I think) gear that demonstrated to me at least that separating opinions from objective analysis will be a challenge; that said an open dialogue on what works and more importantly what doesn't is always helpful. I know that my helmet choice has allowed me to type this note and a lesser one may not have... So let's give it a go. Kevin I have to agree, I think it would be great to have a section like that for some of the more important or common things people ask about. So at least they get pointed in the right direction in their search.
  21. I know at first the fact you can't see the downhill curbing or the right handed corner after it till you are coming over the crest is a bit spooky, but the actual amount of time you have through the corner is a lot more then you would think or that your vision lets you believe you have. I go over the curbing myself and at speed that's a blast. The funny thing is what I think is fast is nothing compared to what the pros and some people do through that corner. lol
  22. Cobie, I use to help moderate a car website years ago and the forums we used had a system similar to that. The ways ours worked was you could get warnings from the admin and mods if you were not following the forum rules and guidelines. Different levels restricted your account in different ways and for different lengths of time depending on how you had it set up. I am not sure if this is the same way but that is the same way ours was displayed and how it worked. Chris
  23. I wish we had some good cloverleaf on and off ramps here in Florida. We like to make the joke of 11 turn in 318 miles instead of Deals Gaps 318 turns in 11 miles. We have to hit the tracks for anything worth running. The few roads that do have good corners are just not worth the risk trying to ride sporty due to traffic or cops or other bikers who have trouble keeping control of their bike. For my tough corner I would have to say turn 7 at Barber, also called the Bama Coaster or Museum turn. That one really mentally gets in your head. I know I had huge improvements in that corner my last visit but still nowhere near where I can or should be with it.
