  1. Man I'm a totally newb when it comes to track and such but I'm trying to read this and its way to deep for me. I dont even think about all this stuff. I just envision my bike doing something and it does it... ah the beauty of a Honda.
  2. Thanks but I'm a little leery on ordering stuff from outside the US. I'll probably just get some used ones from WERA forum or something.
  3. Many take all the street bodywork off (like we do) and then put track body work on. If you don't crash, you can sell it when you are done with the bike, and if you did, you would save yourself THOUSANDS in bodywork! CF Yea I dont want to get some track body work but I have so much other stuff to get like new tires, leathers, trailer, etc that body work is one of the last things on my mind but I'm going to see what I can do over the work.
  4. #1 reason we don't practice track techniques on the street. Are you moreso trying to figure out kneedragging or are you talking about where to position your upper body? You dont need to drag a need to go fast. Usually thats just a barometer to measure how much traction you have left. With regards to hanging off the bike or not I've seen pros that leaning their body off the bike into the turn and kissing the mirror and I've seen some that try to keep their upper body and head kinda over the tank or going in the opposite direction as the turn, almost as if to look through the turn if its blind. Just do whatever YOU are comfortable with.
  5. Thats true, especially since I moved down here to Atlanta, its like track city. I mean theres like 4 tracks within 2 hours of my house and 6 within 4-5. So I'm getting all my gear now and prepping the RR for the track. I just pray I dont crash too bad because its still kinda minty.
  6. Been wanting to ride for a while but I finally broke down and got my license in April of 2008. Brought a 1998 Yamaha YZF600R from a friend of mine in May of 08 and just brought a 2008 600RR in December of 08. My next bike will be a dedicated track bike as I had to sell the 600R this summer.
