  1. This was my first ever session at my first ever trackday. Its really the only on-track picture of my self I have. Nothing too exciting. This bike as since left my posession (after it tried to kill me) I keep thinking if Id get my new bike out to the track a little more, Maybe the photographer might actually get some new pictures of me. Sandia Motor Speedway, Albuquerque, NM I'm thinking it was in June 07.
  2. That would be because the MV is an I-4...
  3. As far as I know, SMRI is the primary track day providers here in ABQ. I'm really not sure about Arroyo, I've never been there myself. There are on occasion "Specialty" track days that are put on my some of the local sponsor companies here in town (like.. Euro only, or Vintage only.. etc) Our riding season is typically March-October (Depending on how cold blooded you are) our July-August is usually in the mid-upper 90's with the occasional 100+ day. In leathers its brutal, but not unlivable. As of now I wont be able to do any traveling to other tracks, one, because I have no means of bike transport other than riding it, and Two, My summer's worth of traveling has been booked with my wife. Vegas in April, Indy in June. No out of state tracks for me this year. Thanks for the offer though!
  4. Hi RF, I'm from NM, so welcome an extra amount . When I was living there, we had to go racing in CO, or there was a little track in Las Cruces. Maybe time for a road trip this year...get to a new track, maybe get a little coaching too? CF Well on the plus side, we have a track here in Albuquerque now. Sandia Motor Speedway. Its far from great, but its far greater than nothing. We also have Arroyo Seco down in Deming. I'd love to get a little coaching or try some .. ahem... *real* tracks.. but I'm barely affording tires for the Duc. (And my wife HATES the bike) So for now my coaching stems from books, and the forums online, and the few trackdays I'm able to make it to. Hopefully if/when the economy picks up (for us Automotive Mechanics) I'll be able to get the bike a little more track prepped and out to do some real riding. For now all I've done is a suspension setup, and lost about 18 lbs (off of myself). I'm getting ready for the first trackday at the end of April so I can try out all of the new fun things I've been reading about and learning. Thanks again for the "Extra amount" of welcome!
  5. Hey all, I'm Wayne. I have been riding for a 7 years. I have a few track days under my belt and am a Ducati-nut. I'm on my 3rd one now. Started on a 2001 750 Monster, went up to a 2005 749 Dark, and now am riding a 2006 749S. The S was nice enough to show me that when you miss your line on a double apex and hit the tar strip, Lowsiding is a good way to find out your leg can keep the bike off the ground. I've read the Twist of the Wrist books and so far I've been having a great time reading the articles on here. I'm always trying to learn more so I can avoid those damn tar strips on Albuquerque's crappy track!
