  1. It is true that i lost a lot of speed by slightly rolling of the throttle. Because i ride a small bike (aprilia rs250), my corner speed is the most important part so i have to get it right. the line i am using now is ok i guess but need some small adjustment to find the most suitable line . I must overcome that mental issue and have more trust in the tires. hopefully i will be able come to the track on the 13/11 for a practice day . I will play around with it. Troy
  2. I think most of them highside because sliding the rear tire. Here is one of the video of it. It is true that it is mental issue. I need to take some more risk and consistently apply the throttle rule. I remember somewhere in the book there is a point mentioning you dont chop the throttle, but keep in constant. This turn is very important as it lead to a straight.. lots of time there too. I am a newbie, so much to learn.!
  3. Well wheelie over the crest,, a fun idea to try. Maybe i set that my goal. But i havent seen anyone doing it there. Getting the bike up right over the crest is a very good point. I will adjust the line around it. I think a good throttle control will remain the lean angle you have set because you are actively steering the bike with its rear wheel. My 2 cents
  4. Hi Vaidas, At that turn, it is crest and off camber at the same time. I have seen many highside at that corner (mainly rear wheel slides) So i slightly close the throttle to reduce the light feeling of the bike and really focus on traction of the rear tire. Having said so, I definitely think that corner can be taken at greater speed. I just need to get a more natural, better and less risky way to deal with that turn. Troy
  5. Thank you Dylan and Progression, I havent been to Winton yet. I want to try it in the future. For now I stick with Bford as it is closer. I will give it a try next time i go to Broadford. I have seen many people highside there so it is a bit scary to overcome it. Troy
  6. Hi all, Can anyone give me an idea of what is a good throttle control when ride over the crest, especially at the final left hand turn at Broadford track. I found myself rolling on about halfway of the turn then gradually slowly reduce the amount of gas (that is the bike is still on the gas but less). then i wait until the bike is over the crest then pick the bike up and hard on the gas. Thank you. Troy
  7. I am no cornering expert but i agree with others. brake late doesnt mean you can go faster. I reckon the G force is higher due to the compression of braking make you feel fast. You ran wide probably because you were charging the turn or not turning quick enough. I think you will be better of by move back your brake marker a bit and focusing on entry speed more. I believe smooth and momentum is the key to better laptime. Just my 2cents.
  8. Thank you for the support Johnny.! Ride hard.
  9. Because i had some spinning on the previous track day so on the last track day i decided to sit further to the back. So it maybe previously it could be but not anymore. I tried to crack the throtle a.s.a.p but i will take the point and work on it. It might that i did not open the throttle enough to reduce the load from the front to the rear to get 40/60. Thanks all for all the ideas. Troy
  10. Thanks Vaidas I ride an aprilia rs250. That could be. I will ask my suspension guy to see what he think of it.
  11. Hi all, I hope someone could give me an idea of why this is happenning. My font tire wear to the edge but the rear still has about .5 cm left on them. I feel that it may be a riding technique related issue. The bike tire sizes are 120F-160R recommended by the manual. Thank you. Troy
  12. Well its fixed. 30th of May is my next track day. I will try to get those advices of yours in to practice. One other issue i found out today when i sat on my bike. I was sitting too far from the tank which made it harder for my legs to support my body weight. So many things to learn. For the braking, i will now go for 2 fingers. I dont want to decide in the middle of the turn how many i should use..
  13. Hi Dylan, The tech Spec are quite big. I ended up covering up almost the area on the side of the tank. I will try to remember "one thing at a time". I figure out why i crashed the other day. I was too busy deciding on braking with one or two fingers, so that i can do the downshift while bipping the throttle. Stupid me i know. Thanks all of you for your advices. Great forum and extremely helpful people. Troy
  14. Thanks Tweek, advices taken. Just had the tech spec grips on the tank yesterday. Feel great already.. so much grip from it. school will not happen until September as no course available. I plan 1 or 2 track days before it. I will try to make sure no one will get hurt from my mistakes. Troy
  15. You have made a very good point. That was true. I was on the brake + trying to downshift the gear + sorting out my position at the same time. I know it is crazy. I must remember well set up before the corner. I will take into consideration all of what you said. crashing is way too expensive way to learn. I plan to get to superbike school soon. Hope it will help.
