  1. if im starting to accelerate , i'll take my chances with the front wheel contacting , but hey thats just me ^^
  2. I wont risk it on public roads imho... Being th top 20% is enough for me. Any further and the risks are just too great on non track conditions...
  3. I personally ride with only one thing in my mind: Accuracy at all speeds
  4. Im more biased towards a hardware bottlneck if its level4 ... Geometry, Tires and suspension settings might need some tuning...
  5. Too much living and non living road hazards in my woods. I can never be too careful ...
  6. I like it. But to be fair, being on a lighter machine you will have a larger safety margin for a given speed... but I know what you're saying. How to know when you nailed a corner... I did that while attending CSS Level 1 earlier this week. Only did it once the entire day, in fact it is probably the only time I've done it in my entire life... but I had turned in and was on the throttle, then hit my apex and it just felt good, I thought "perfect!". Kept the throttle on all the way out of the turn without running wide on the exit, the next corner linked together perfectly as well and I just did it all again. Two perfect corners in a row... you know it when you do it! If I had to define it, I would say that you really nailed it when you only make one steering input, open the throttle smoothly and without hesitation, make your apex, and hold your line on the exit. You can't ask for any more than that, right? I could always ask for better road quality around my woods...
  7. Im guessing if they dont implement TC before Honda does, they might be the last big 4 to be without a TC and might market it as such, no TC... pure hardcore marketing? maybe?
  8. panic > off throttle/back brake / both> run wide > instant access to incoming traffic.
  9. Im guessing your front and/or rear tires are mixed? I did ride the same built of my bike with different tires, those with a rounder profile front (more V than U) mixed with a neutral round tire ( more U than V) will result in a very fast inital lean in continued with a "stopping force" when the rear tire reach their biggest contact patches with no chicken stripes to spare I personally wont call that a neutral handling bike I might be wrong , could be suspension or other things too thou.
  10. im guesstimating COG too. a lower perceived COG for the whole bike's system while in a turn will lay down more anti wheelie ballast, hence driving the front and rear down more when under power = bigger /more contact patch = more traction? my 2C~ I've been in the very unfortunate situation to slide steer my bike to avoid head on collisions 3 times on public roads and weighting in the inside helped the rear sliding wheel (from brake lockup) steer like supermoto (it steps out in the direction opposite to where im pointing) and create an "in in in" line for me for 3 seconds. I see an escape line, i roll on and avoid getting squished like a bug on the windscreen = =" thats just me, could be wrong too thou
  11. How I wish i could do a CSS track day school!!
  12. I personally use the quick turn (im no world champ but im very quick compared to most road users) hence my point of entry is way further than most people into the turn. Visibility is also greater because as you said it... I stay on the right right until the very turn point and CS left , practicing the visual 2 step turning too . after that its smooth roll on of the throttle, and if theres a manhole in the middle, I use a line where my rear clips the middle of it (to make it slide) and use it as an "impossible" line . Only on roads Im very familiar with thou. IMHO You'll either have to have a quick turning bike (short wheelbase like mine) or work on the steering rate + predetermined turn point (chapter 15+16 on TOTW II book) I have both tools btw.
  13. running waaay faster than the big guys in a turn. like 125 4T scooter VS 600 / litrebike territory. You know u nailed it right when its definitely rider ability bottlenecking that beast of a bike on the same turn.... by their standards i have a sh*tty bike , by my standards they have sh*tty abilities.
  14. IMHO TC is like a two edged blade / tool , it can make or break the bike depending on how you ride... RACE TC is really out of the league of most riders (i might safely sassume 95% of riders out there without training imho) you can take a look at Kawasaki's TC, its phenomenal from an engineering/ computing standpoint ^^ http://image.sportrider.com/f/38881677/146-1110-05-z+advanced-traction-control+kawasaki-patent.jpg
  15. thats nice to hear good throttle control and choice of line has saved my bacon more than ten times on the public roads i've ridden.
  16. all cards are out when extremes are used imho...
  17. IMHO Im guessing feedback and modulation is better from the hands.
  18. does sliding on wet drainhole covers count? XD
  19. Ben Spies has his rear brake rigged up on the handlebars as a thumb pusher , I had seen it somewhere , will try to dig it out Im just a student but here you go (its in chinese but i think the pictures are pretty universal) http://tw.myblog.yah...rticle?mid=6877 the picture i attached also tries to explain why timing and using of the back brake before the front brake gives a geometry advantage VS front and back in tandem, imho YMMV thou
  20. given you have so much lean angle unused, you could try leaning out with just half a buttcheek on not so demanding turns... and also what BLSJDS said repositioning your feet might help too elso if you are into hardware upgrades, get a fully adjustable footrest and tune it to your liking and ergonomics.
  21. u can try other twitters with photos imho. If you also cant load from others, its your problem.
  22. im guessing the steer speed (lazy slow steer VS super moto-gp fast quick steer)
  23. i ride public roads too point and shoot gives a much bigger margin of error if something comes up. track... u can try everything
  24. seeing as how the SNELL M2010 standard actually revolves around the ECE 22.05 standard, I'd buy the cheapest known brand helmet that meets said ECE standard and fits comfortably. composite lids now come in at 250-400 USD in my woods so hey , everyones a winner when theres competition ^^
  25. only on modern 17" bikes with fat tires i believe... Ride a 10" scooter and you'll be surprised how much degres of lean it can take before turning nasty...
