  1. I was recently ask a question, how do you apply heavy braking at high speed in a steep lean angle? My answer was you don't. Is this correct? I would think that you would have to start picking the bike up.
  2. The 65.00 covers all the riding gear that you will need. The class usually ends around 5 pm. As far as what you need to do is show up on time, show up well rested because it is a fast paced and full day. And absolutely no alcohol for at least 48 hrs. before class. Just go and enjoy.
  3. Just an observation. In reading this forum and others, there are constant questions from new riders about how to make a bike perform better. I would venture to guess that just about any new sport bike will out perform a new riders ability. The best money that a rider could possibly spend would be in what is sitting on the seat and not what is under it. Sound does not really make a bike go faster, go to school. It is the best money you will ever spend.
  4. I attended a class last summer at Barber and I had one lady in my group. I think she had a better time than anyone. She passed me ont track one time and all I thought was you go girl. The school has lady instructors and they can ride. Myself, I think that it is pretty cool that women want to ride, and I do not think that anyone would not want a lady in the class. If they did thats their problem. I do not think that being able to ride has anything to do with being a man or a woman. It is not a sport about brute strength, I feel that it is more mental. Just go, once you put on that helmet no one can tell anyway.
  5. Just go to a CSS school, you will not regret it. You will not slow anyone down. You ride at your own pace, it is neither a race or a competition. It is however the best move you could make, the staff is A+. They will make you feel comfortable and you will improve. Just enjoy everyone there is there for the same thing to improve. You will not regret going.
  6. I ride a CBR954RR, this weekend I was out riding and flet something that I have heard of but never felt until now. I went to pass a car, I accelerated hard and when I up shifted I had a really bad shake in the handlebars. What could cause this and how do you prevent it. It felt like if it had been much worse it would have been ugly. I have attended one of you schools level I at Barber, gotta say you are the most professional people I have ever been around.
  7. Just go and enjoy the experience, I promise you that you will not regret the choice. The instruction is world class, and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Everyone there will have one thing in common and that is their love of riding. Just remember that the class is not a competition
  8. I have a phone number for you to a large motorcycle salvage yard. T he name of the place is called Willies in Camp Hill Al. The number is 1-800-334-4045 this place is huge, maybe they can help you.
  9. In response to the question about a 100 hp plus bike. I would attend a good riding school, and be aware that the bike will only go as fast as you twist the throttle. Do not think that just because it is a 600 that it will not perform, the bikes can really scream.
  10. Show up on time, be relaxed,do not be afraid to ask questions, and be prepared for the most exciting day of riding that you will ever have.
