  1. Check two things: Firstly as above, your front forks could be bottoming out and the rear wheel lifting as a result. Check your travel with a cable tie/zip tie to see how much travel you have left. If there is none, preload the front more. If you are not bottoming the front then the rear rebound damping is too hard. Dial off rebound to allow the wheel to return to the ground and track in a straight line.
  2. http://www.biketrackdays.co.uk/dates/schools.html looks like Jamie Whitham runs a school from there...
  3. Shoj if Cadwell Park is closest to you then that's where you need to go... They will almost certainly have details on upcoming events like superbike schools, or they may be able to give you some contact details for one elsewhere. Also try your local bike shop...chances are one of them race or used to race and know somebody. Have you looked if Cadwell have their own website?
  4. Thanks for comments Jef4Y I was out on the track yesterday and going down one at a time feels a lot better, it gives you a chance to blip the throttle correctly and lets you brake later due to added engine braking, instead of rolling into the corner with the clutch in! Plus you are aware of how many gears you are changing - so no mistakes.
  5. I noticed on Keiths post - Commitment - the clutch actions for the 13 corner track totals 10 actions. I assume this means one action for each gear down corner regardless of number of gear changes and no actions for no gear down corners eg sweeps etc. obviously I do not know the track he is referring to. My question is this; When aproaching a corner that you will need to gear down say three gears, do I pull the clutch, bang down all three and then release? At the moment I ride up to the turn and pull the clutch individually for each gear, bang down one early so as to leave two changes only closer to the turn in point. I race a ZX10 so with the slipper clutch I shouldn't even need the clutch but feel more confident riding the way I do?
  6. Hi Guys, What are the chances of the superbike school ever coming to south Africa? My Brother and I race ZX10's, I ride the regional Races in Cape Town and He races nationally accross SA last year placing 7th in the country. I have read the Soft Science and will be reading more of Keith's work as soon as I can get my hands on it. There are loads of good riders in SA and plenty that would truly benefit from a school like yours. I belive we have some great talent in our national scene that would truly stand out on the world scene if they had just another little edge. Recently Hudson Kennaugh finished second in Valencia, having qualified 7th behind all locals and even led for two laps, having never been to the track, in the GSXR Cup races. He attended a Kevin Schwantz School at Kyalami Race track here in Jo'burg some time ago and since then he's been unstoppable! He won last season with 11 out of 13 races! Another racer had one wild card race in OZ and also finished high up the ranks. With so much raw talent, SA is an untapped resource of future stars. Can the Superbike school help the young South Africans?
  7. Hey Niteninja I race ZX10R and have tried a couple of road/race tires. We normally use the Pirelli dragon supercorsa. But have used the dunlops in the past. We normally run at 2.10 bar in the front and 1.90 bar at the rear. I live in South Africa so the temps are normally quite warm. We've been running these pressure for ages, so maybe a revision is in order anyone?
