  1. Hi Jason - didn't stop riding, just stopped doing the schools (did L1 in 1998, and my last (L4) was Almeria 3 years ago) - had a mate who did me some very good deals on track days in Spain - did (multiple times) Calafat, Montmelo, Valencia, plus lots of road riding in Spain too.

That's not an option now, so I'm going to do more schools - don't really like 'normal' track days - I'd rather do one CSS than 2 or 3 ordinary ones :0)

  2. I tried reading the books, but wen a bit boss-eyed. Then someone recommended a local race-shop that had an Ohlins guru who spends 2 hours setting the bike up for you/your weight/your style/road or track. This costs £80. They also do an advanced one which includes road tests and debriefing for double that.

I had the cheaper one and immediately noticed a difference, and have not changed it since - for the cost, it might be worth going down that route.

  3. I had a quickshift on a Gixer trackbike I had and loved it. I did quite a bit of research and had a HM one fitted to the R - which is a strain gauge one (rather than movement). I'll let the graph speak for itself - even though that's also with the PC fitted, you can see the difference

I've also got a John Hacket one on my SPS, which is a lot more sensitive, by I still tend to leave it on rather than off - it's like the paddles in the car - don't always use them, but nice that they're there :0)
