When Too Much Isn't Enough

Recommended Posts

Certainly sounds great. Only 334hp though? With the inline 4's pushing over 200hp these days you would think they could have gotten more out of a second bank of cylinders. Then again imagine the thermal problems they have and the weight.

V8's aren't new though. Morbidelli made a V8 touring bike that was the most expensive bike in the world for a while. They have one at the Barber Museum on display and it's quite interesting to look at from a sheer engineering perspective.

The engine is 2 Yamaha R1's married at the crank.

Paul Maloney (the chief engineer) says 400 hp should be achievable but they left it at only 334hp during development.

It seems the Italians and Aussies share the American love of V8's http://www.drysdale-v8.com.au/
