  1. For all of those of you out there that want to experience the no BS bike for practice before or after a CSS class then I recomend a GL (goldwing) 1500. My dad has one and it was quite a change from my Honda VF1000 (interceptor 1984). The handlebars are actually almost level with my breastbone and me being about 6'1" that is really high. All I had to do was put it throught some agresive corners and I knew exactly what you guys were talking about. It is also a good learner bike because it weighs almost 1000 lbs so getting off the seat does not really effect the cg since a measly 150-200 lbs really isn't as large a ratio on such a pig of a bike. So for all of you sporters on your GSXRs, Hayabusas, CBRs, and YZFs if you have a friend that has a Goldwing try to convince him to let you go for a little ride, it is a really interesting experience.
  2. I have browsed through the other replies and have decided just to say how I move about a little bit and you can take what you want from that. First thing I do is gage how tight the corner is and how fast I am going (sometimes I do not even move from crouced position because it is not needed) After that even if I am not planning on "getting my knee down" I move off of the seat because a lower cg allows for a tighter turn (physics with the lean angle and such) plus it feels fun So moving off of the seat, I had to go on a little ride to cheak that one out. What I do is kind of slide but I do relieve the seat of almsot all weight so I guess it is an up and over also. Anyways I try to leave the handlebars loose (no weight pressing on them) and put most of my weight on my feet (no peg bias) then I (lets say leaning left) sort of rotate my left knee forward bringing my right back and then let go of the bike with my left lower body. If you are interested or confused just ask and I will try to add some pictures or a better explination. When completing the turn and getting back up on the bike I do a little bit of the reverse, push on the bike a little bit with my right upper leg (very quick and slight) as I put my weight on the pegs and slide (rotate) my but back to crouched position. That is about it, hope at least one thing helped. ~Ciao
