  1. I just finished the two day camp in Vegas (Nov 21/22) and was wondering what course was run that weekend? Looking at the new schedule for 2010 it looks like you have 1 date for Vegas on the Infield and the rest of the Vegas dates are run on the Classic course. What is the difference between the two?

P.S.Had a Blast by the way!! Special thanks to my coaches Joe...you rock! ...and Cobie...I'm still smillin :P

    Thanks to the whole team,

  2. Here is a question to you guys that only ride on the track...do you find that it takes you awhile to get in the groove? I mean... if you are not riding on the street practicing your drills/skills, do you feel that between trackdays you are not as in tune as you could be? Just a question...I'm a little curious about that.

    Thanks for you replies,

  3. Hey guys,

I have a bit of a dilema that I'm hoping the forum can help me out with...I just started to do some track days and am considering racing. I am currently using my 00 R1 steetbike for both street and track...the problem is ...that as a novice at our home track the more experienced guys are telling me that a 1000 for our track is too much bike! Mistakes that happen on a liter bike are big and that a 600 is more forgiving. That being said...When I first learn to ride I rode a 600 Katana for 2 mos before I ran out and jumped on the R1. Ive had that bike since it's birth (I even did the delivery - uncrating it). I know that bike, and I know it well. The up side is that it's bought and paid for already...The down side is...can a bike really be too big for a track??

    Thanks,

  4. On why Rossi sticks his leg out...

If you pick up a copy of Roadracing World Sept.2009 issue, there is an interveiw/article, Valentino Rossi On Cornering p.15

    "Phase 1: Braking and Entry"

"Before I start braking I move off the seat to the inside, so for Coppice you brake with the body to the right. You move early so you only have to make one movement to get the bike into the corner, also so the bike doesn't move around. Sometimes now I take the foot off the inside footpeg because it feels like I can brake harder."

Hope this answers the ongoing debate...

  5. Good topic starter there Bullet...

I find one of my 'mistakes' is that I can be quite competitive and when the faster guys pass me, I have a tendency to unconsciously twist the wrist and target fixate on the back of their bikes only to find that oops...I'm in way too hot and end up running off! I found that at subsequent track days, I just consentrated on the drills and didn't even noticed the other riders. I also have to constantly tell myself that track days are to practice! That being said..."just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in" Still working on it. Anyone else out there have this problem? (I've just started to do trackdays this year)

    Thanks,

    BCNU
