Wire Rims And Track Days? Do They Mix?

I have a Ducati PS1000LE with wire rims and tubes on a radial TL tire (Pirelli Phantom)!!! Everything I have read says this is a bad combination. In fact, I am fairly certain the tire can be used on standard rims w/o a tube.

 

So, my question is, should I even entertain the notion of bringing her to a BYOB gig? Is this a safe application for track days? Hell, is this a safe application for the canyons??

 

Thoughts? Suggestions??
