Guest 148bhp Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 When exiting a corner still leaned over, can I just roll on the throttle or should I get the bike upright first? Pete. Quote
Blue636 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Picking up some throttle helps straightening the bike out. Quote
adifferentname Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 You would already be carrying a small amount of throttle mid corner to balance the bike's suspension - this is explained brilliantly in Keith's book A Twist of the Wrist 2 - for the exit you are gradually picking the bike up and at the same time gradually increasing the throttle to match the rear tire's increasing contact patch Quote
AndyIbbott Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Hi Guys, In Level 2 we teach the Pick Up Drill. This gets more acceleration out of the turn on the exit. It's a way of decreasing your lean angle whilst applying more throttle without running wide. It's cool as polar bear piss. Enjoy your riding Andy Ibbott School Director (Europe) Quote
