  3. Is Coderace available in the UK? I would love to become a coach in the future and i have experience in coaching/training however this is not in bikes ( i am an ex fire service car/fire truck trainer who now runs an incident command school) so i have experience in the field but not specifically bike training.
  4. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you! Enjoy the day and please let us know how it went, I'm there in July.
  5. Racer, if you would like to see a little bit about the specs of the Paul Smart bike as Ducati make them look here That modded one sounds really nice
  6. Great report, I will try to do something similar after my level 1 day, thanks
  7. I'm there on the 8th July! As for special bikes, i don't think you get to use any of those on Level 1. I think (but could be wrong) the lean bike is Level 3 or 4 and brake bike Level 2. No doubt someone will confirm if this is correct.
  8. Keith, If you make a trip to Rockingham (UK) on 8th July you will see the grin on my face
  9. Oh man, I just wish you visit California, we can do track all year round. I wish i could too.. maybe one day
  10. I would think most people will be nervous to one degree or another, i am sure i will be on the day. I have been riding 26 years and have done a handfull of track days. I am certain the coaches will ensure you enjoy yourself and improve accordingly. I wish my girlfriend had bought me the course.. hmmmm maybe a xmas pressie for next year!
  11. My E1 is a 2001 i think the first where 2000. It has the twin lights, I would think yours is a C1 or C2. Here is a pic or two of mine so you can see.
  12. The Penske shock is ordered and i'll report on it when it is fitted. I have just picked up my forks after being resrung for my weight (ohlins) and revalved and rebound needles replaced. Cant wait to try it out. What model9R do you have Cobie? I have an E1 model and have also raised the rear 10mm with the ride height adjuster, this has speeded up the steering and hopefully the suspension upgrades will improve the slightly harsh ride and bouncyness at the rear.
  13. Hi Rick, I wish I could but due to working commitments I cant do july this year! I will hopefully manage one later this year! I have a couple of questions for you, hope you dont mind. do you intend doing all 4 levels eventually? also are you going to use your own bike when you go or hiring a school bike? if using your own bike are there hotels in the rockingham area with secure bike parking? I ask this as when I go I would preffer to use my own bike but i have no trailer or van so would be driving the bike down and staying for a few nights. I notice your local track is cadwell, I would love to do a track day there sometime, I love wacthing the bsb guys on tv jumping the mountain section there, it makes for really exiting racing cheers bobby I am hoping to do all 4 levels if my finances allow it, I will be using my own bike as I would prefer to learn the techniques on my own machine. I know they are generic methods but I would still like to prove to myself I can do it on mine When you book you will get a documentation pack with details of accommodation in the area, I will be travelling down on the day. Yes Cadwell is great and I will be getting back to doing some more track days there later this season, the mountain is awesome, but not as easy as it looks.. I prefer to leave the heroics to Karl Harris and the likes! If you are going to come over sometime let me know and I'll see if we can do one together and you could probably doss down at mine if you like or I could recommend somewhere for you as I am only 30 mins away.
  14. Welcome I'm doing CSS at Rockingham on July 8th if you fancy joining me!
  15. Has anyone got experience of Penske shocks? I am getting this for my ZX9R to replace my worn stock item. I have been told they are very good, any opinions?
  16. Enjoy yourselves! I hope the weather there is better than here! This was Cadwell park on Easter Sunday!
  17. A few advantages: 1. When hung off on the right, it is easier to make an upshift by simply pushing down--one doesn't have to get their foot under it. For me, this was significant, I have short legs, and it was hard to get my foot under it. 2. When in a left hand turn, if you are still leaned over a bit and wanting to get an upshift, you don't have to dig your foot under the lever. 3. Downshififting is a little easier and very positive as you have the heel on top of the footpeg, it's easy to get a positive downshift done (ever see guys lifting their legs up and stomping on the gear shift lever?). Most like it when they try it and get used to, but for sure there have been top riders that haven't done it--I think Mladin would be the current one that still rides street pattern. C Thaks Cobie, I guess that makes sense, though so far I can't say I have had a problem with the street pattern. I'd like to try the GP one though, maybe I'll get a chance sometime.
  18. JR isn't the only one that had to switch, there have been others, and I've just been a bit of a tyrant, and unsympathetic. In the end, pretty sure all have preferred it anyway. I have tried it on a few students recently, suggested that they try it, and the few that were willing had very little difficulty adapting. CF Cobie, what are the advantages of the GP shift pattern?
  19. Thanks, hopefully i'll get some for July when I am with CSS at rockingham
  20. Will do Cobie, I'll look into this a bit more here as I am in the UK so things that you can buy there may not be available here.
  21. Here are the possible things: 1. A t-shirt and underwear. I don't like this, cotton when it sweats just sticks you to the leathers, not that comfortable. 2. Under Armour--a lot of guys like this. Wear long sleeve, slides better in the leathers. Some wear similar type shorts too. It's better in the hot than cotton. 3. Inner suits, like the ones from Kushitani or RS-Tai Ichi. My first choice. Kushitani is the most comfortable, RS is more durable, and cheaper. We try and stock the inner suits, but don't always have them (supply issues) on hand. You can certainly call the office if you'd like to check on that. The inner suits if you are going to do any amount of riding in warm weather, are the way to go (I won't get in my leathers without it). Cooler, and they let the suit move on you, not bind, which is what happens when one sweats in them. In cost weather, I just long sleve long johns like the under armour. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions. Best, Cobie Fair Chief Riding Coach What under armour do you recommend Cobie?
  22. Just wear what you would normally wear under your leathers (assuming you have leathers) If not, wear some kind of underwear and a t shirt. If the weather is likely to be hot you might find a breathable t shirt will stop you sweating too much under the leathers.
