Hotfoot Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I'm seeing more and more Supermotos around these days. I don't know anything about them, and I was wondering - what are the reasons (I'm sure there are multiple) for changing the wheels when you turn a bike into a Supermoto? I'm sure it's partly to make it easier to get track-type tires, but what else? Weight? Handling? Quote
stuman Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Mostly just so you can get better tires. They don't make good street tires in 19" and 21" so most people switch to 17" or 16.5" so they can get good race tires. I'm sure the 17"s handel way better then 19" or 21"... Quote
