bkrivisky Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 The guys in this video do NOT hang off. In fact there butts never move, yet they corner like crazy. I would like Keith's/Cobie's others comments on this style and why they seem so successful.
aredman Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Have a look at this thread... http://forums.superbikeschool.com/index.php?showtopic=2808&pid=22156&st=0entry22156 It is the countersteering process that allows them to do what they do, not body steering or alike. Awesome skills all the same!!!
Jasonzilla Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Physics are physics. The reason he's not leaning off is that you probably couldn't even find a Moto GP racer who can do what this guy is at these speeds with all the body shifting that would be required. He stays locked into the bike so he can pop it around. Incredible though.
Jasonzilla Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 This is also a great demonstration of where to focus. Watch his head.
Julian Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Some of the techniques I can see: - He is well locked on, hips are very stable. - Upper body moves WITH the bike. - He is very light on the bars. - He pushes his upper body forward when accelerating, to prevent having to hold himself by the bars. - He has one finger on the brake lever, one on the clutch, feathering, every transition is as smooth as. Good example of how much lean angle is possible, when you do it right. Amazing stuff.
