  1. Thankyou all (bullet, CF, Iwarner) for spending the time to give me your views and experiences. No, I havn't been riding for all that long, though long enough to feel my confidence out weighs my skill. Pretty sure I have most, if not ALL the bad habbits you see quite regularly at your schools. But I am super keen to learn how to do it right. I know I won't master it over night but at least now I will be focused with definate direction and goals to acheive during track sessions post CSS. As opposed to going out there, having a crack and maybe a stack. Your opinions carry much weight and mean everything to me at the moment. With your insightfull feedback I have been able to realisticaly guage attending the classes and have decided to go with levels 1&2 back to back, then 3&4 back to back with a 2 day break between both blocks - yeah, a tight schedule and I know Im going to be pretty fatigued. But Im going to relate it to when I did consecutive trackdays and 2 days rest between should be enough. As far as info overload goes, I just want to build a good, CORRECT, solid base to begin my learning from. If I can walk away with that foundation/base then I would have acheived exactly what I am after. Thankyou all again for your input Regards RD
  2. question: It looks like many students have attended the school, then gone off to put some time in practicing the skills learnt, reflect and then go back to further sharpen their technique and understanding. I ask, is there anything wrong with doing back to back levels? With the way I was riding at the track (2close calls and 1 crash), I was better off getting all that I could from the school before going track side again. But am I selling myself short by not letting the sequential levels mature into my riding before advancing? Thankyou. I lookforward to attending the Australian CSS in December. Cheers
  3. "quizzes" - where r the quizzes? I read a reply in the "bands of traction" thread that in level 4, you fill out a questionaire in order to customize tutoring to strengthen your riding weaknesses. I was hoping to find something here that resembled that questionaire. I am about to begin my schooling (lvls1-4) in december and preparation of not just my bike, but my self mentally is my top priority at the moment. I think a questionaire similar to the one I read about would be ideal for getting into the right headspace. Is it something that is able to be posted? Or should I just hang on untill natural progression has me filling out the questionaire on the morning of level 4? thanx cornering crew
  4. Appanna: I couldn't agree more with bellevuetlr Nicely put! And it took me 3 occasions to understand this! Like the above example, I gassed it post apex, no throttle control, while still at considerable lean exiting the corners ... yes the back slipped out but far from a controlled slide . I was lucky the first 2 times (htf?), the 3rd is for another thread . I can only say, without proper coaching / tuition, searching for these limits is stacking the odds heavily against you bro staying rubberside down - Like bellevuetlr says, "no reason to do this on a trackday.." My $0.02, find the limits of your setup through the school rather than the limits of your pockets through silly avoidable mistakes like mine.
  5. ***post removed by author, didn't want to be thread hi-jacking*** RonniB, Sorry about that m8 - good topic though!
  6. Im for the idea! Here's why: I see a good, user friendly and up-to-date reference point comming out of this. Manufacturer websites I've tried, don't seem to list optimum temps, pressures and tyre feedback regarding track use. I've had to rely on magazine reviews and rider experience from other formus. and Im booked in to do the schooling. So I think having central location, like this forum, is good for people like me exploring set up options in preparation.
