millman Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Hello everyone. I'm new here trying to get as much info about improving my riding skills as I can. I had planned to eInroll in the Super Bike school this spring, but the bottom has fallen out of my personal economy. So for now I will wait until things get better. I've been riding off and on for 39 years. For the last year and a half I've been riding a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic. I love my cruiser, but I love the twisties also. When things start to pick up, I'll get something sporty for those days when I have a need for speed. Quote

Let us know if we can help, and what problems/issues you find with your Vulcan--if anyone else has one, they haven't admitted it so far. Best, Cobie Quote
hubbard_28 Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Howdy Wannabe. I'm in the same boat financially. My wife is in school, and I just can't afford it. You can still learn plenty on this site, and you'll obtain knowledge that will help you when you can make it. Quote
millman Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 Thanks for the welcome. After taking a ride a few days ago on the back roads of san diego county I came to understand that I want more. Because of the design of my cruiser, it's limited in cornering ability but it did pretty good. Besides, no matter what you ride on two wheels you gotta corner. I look forward to getting a lot of good info from everyone. Ride safe. Quote

There is some data in Twist 2 about how to increase the ground clearance of your bike--this works well on any bike, but for sure on cruisers. Have a look if you haven't already. Best, Cobie Quote
