ironkiwi
To critique myself i would say that it looks like i have enough of my lower body off the seat. Move back a bit more, and try to lay flatter on the tank while getting my upper body lot more off the side, try to get my head in line with the mirrors. And dropping the inside elbow down a lot more. It's quite amusing because at the time i was thinking wow i'm really hanging off this thing, why isn't my kneedown yet, and then you get the pictures and go oooohhhhhh

YellowDuck
Your body position isn't bad at all. Personally I'd say maybe a little more bum off the seat but yes, upper body lower and more to the inside. That will help to get your outside arm straighter and closer to the tank but probably just as important in that regard is rotating your hips more in towards the corner - your upper body will follow. In the final picture it almost looks like your body is rotated a bit *away* from the corner. Open it up towards the corner more (your whole body, hips included). That will also get your leg into a position where you can stick your knee out a bit more perpendicular to the bike and eventually get your puck down. khp
+1 to what YellowDuck said and adding that your lower arms should be almost horizontal. This will make your steering input more effective.
Hotfoot
I agree - rotating the hips into the turn will really help, will make it easier to lock on, to drop the knee down and out more, and drop the upper body lower and inside. YellowDuck
I agree - rotating the hips into the turn will really help... Wait....what? I got one right? What do I win, what do I win?!?!
Hotfoot
Pretty much the same thing you got for working your tailfeathers off for a whole race season... bragging rights!
ironkiwi
Thanks for your input gentlemen :-) And the more i think about rotating my hips into the turn the more it makes sense, especially in getting a really good lock onto the tank with my outside leg, which in turn results in greater stability and will let me be more comfortable with getting off the side of the bike more. You guys are worth the price of admission

kcarbis
I know EXACTLY how you feel on the pictures. Before I managed to finally get my knee down I used to think the same thing...."Man, I am really leaned over now, my knee must be close"....then DOH! got about a foot to go.
