What Do I Need To Bring?

Recommended Posts

I am doing the level 1 class on 5/19 with my bike and gear. I plan to do track days in the future.

Now for the questions.

What do I need to do to my bike? (water, safety wire, lights, tires, etc.)

What do I need for gear? I will have a full 2 piece 360 zip leather suit, within 5 year full face 1 piece Snell/DOT helmet, leather gauntlet gloves and racing boots. Do I need a back protector? What else do I need?

I look forward to getting there. I am going to stay at the track over the garage the night of the 18th so I can get a fresh start in the morning. Maybe we could meet y'all there if that is where you are staying.

Do I need anything else?

Thanks,

Hank

PS.. Moved the questions to this topic.

Sounds good.

Nothing special. Changing fluids not needed, we can tape it when you get there, tires have to be in good condition, or very good: We have smoking deal if you didn't know, just for students. We can only now sell to students that are signed up: $200 for Qualifiers, $250 for race tires.

that gear is fine, if it zips together. Back protector not required, but a good idea (we were 'em). Kinda like seat belts, a bit of a pain, but a good idea.

Thank you. I can't wait to get there! I am already signed up.

I do want new tires. Duel compound I think as I will be riding the bike more on the street than the track this year. How do you work that? Mounted and balanced? Get the tires the day before class? The morning of class? Do you send them to me and I get them put on before I go to class?

How do I get the tires from the school before I take the class?? Will you be there doing tires at VIR on the 18th?

Hey Hank,

I would contact (phone) the school directly with important time sensitive questions like this one to be certain you get the information you need in time.

I know Cobie and JR get up here on the forum as often as they can but I think it is more difficult when they are traveling "on the road" with the school this time of year.

Cheers,

racer

Hi Hank,

Call the school: 800-530-3350. You can get tires shipped to you from the factory if you are registered for the school. We often can sell you a set at the school, and sometimes even get them mounted for you. For that, the office should be able to help set that up, make sure our chief mechanic can handle it that day, and we have tires on hand.

Best,

Cobie
