  1. The advice on this thread is sound. Dragging your knee is good fun and as a lean indicator a good tool. When I was working as a scumbag road tester for mags here in the UK It was the be and end all of pictures and little to do with going fast. In my racing a set of sliders would last all year, in a photoshoot less than a day! One thing you could try. When you try and push your leg out do you push it toward the ground or backwards towards the rear seat? If you push down you will twist on the bike and your knee will go further AWAY from the ground! It's a common misunderstanding and mistake, just push your knee back not down and this will help to loosen your hip if nothing else I still remeber my first time. 2. Rob, I would love to bring the Schools to SA - SERIOUSLY! The problem I have is no contacts in SA. So tell me: Do you have a Yamaha Importer? Apart from Welkome and waht other tracks are there? Would there be 63 riders who would want to do the courses? How would I contact them? All the best Andy
  3. Keith has a Suspension set up program that I have used to brilliant effect in the last 7 years. It helps because it shows you exactly what the different suspension setting do to the handling of the bike and once armed with that knowledge you adjust the right knob the right way so much easier!
  4. So we have favourite tracks but what about most challenging corners? For me it's the crested-hard-on-the-gas-into-a-first-gear-chicane challenge at Almeria in Spain. You come out of a chicane and get hard on it with the rear wheel struggling for grip and drive hard over a corner on a crest . Once you get to the brow and still with the bike leant over you have to get HARD on the brakes for another chicane . Get your vision wrong here and you add seconds to your lap times . What challenges you?
  5. For me it used to be Kevin Schwantz, that was until I learnt more about riding and racing. Now I have to say Rainey of the old crowd. Of the current crop, who couldn't be in awe of Rossi? Although Haga in WSB was always fun to watch. Keep an eye on Toseland though, WSB champ for 2004? He's been on the Schools you know...
  6. Hi, Code R.A.C.E is a brilliant School. We have run our first one here in the UK and had excellent results. Do you fit the bill? Well the R.A.C.E. bit stands for Race And Competition Experience so if you are looking for a stepping stomne to racing without the cost, want to know what it's going to be like or need to improve your racing skills then this is the kiddie for you! All the best Andy Ibbott School Director (Europe)
  7. Hi Rob. Kieth has got two drills that deal with this, the Knee to knee drill and the hip flick. Both are designed to get you from one side of the bike to the other without too much or unneeded handlebar input. Have you done the Schools? It would mean doing Levels 1, 2 and 3 but you would be a much better, more confident rider for the rest of your life so it's a worthwhile investment. Myself, I did just Level One in 1995 and it gave me on average a 6 second a lap improvement Andy
  8. Hi Vaughn, The Levels at the Schools are not a reflection of your abilities they are just the start and end of the curricum we have. So, if you have not been to us before you would start at Level One and work your way through. On a 2 Day camp then you would do Levels 1 and 2. Hope this helps Andy Ibbott School Director (Europe)
  9. So who will win the 2004 Moto GP? I favour Colin Edwards but there are several other riders who could do it too: Sete, it's his best chance Rossi, on the Yam, will they make it good enough? Nicky Hayden, came good at the end of the season Capirossi, a better Duc for '04? Then there are several riders who can win races and if injuries become a factor you also have: Hodson Byrne Xaus Bayliss I CAN'T wait!!!!!
  10. Hi Guys, We have dates and hire bikes in Europe for both the California Superbike School www.superbikeschool.co.uk and our Super Moto School www.supermotoschool.co.uk Check it out!
  11. In the USA it's Laguna so far but the Barber track looks very cool. In Europe it's Catalunya. Andy Ibbott
