  1. I shoot for balance. I was told by a local track "pro" that most of my weight was supposed to be on my inside foot. I was fighting the bike all day, and wasted a whole day. I've figured that keeping balance helps me adjust to just about anything that I come across quicker. When I do not put weight on the inner peg , just keep inner ball of foot on peg, but lock the outside leg with ball of foot and knee, I feel balance and can move my head and body to the inner side easily before countersteering. Hope that Cobie or Stuman can comment on how to take advantages of putting weight at inner peg if any. me too...
  2. who doesnt' love a great article written by a great teacher!
  3. well said. I was faced with the sand/gravel issue on the street on my 10r the other day and throttle control and panic controll was all that kept me up!!!
  4. bicycle riding, running everyday, and lifting weights 5 days a week along with a solid low fat diet and I'm 165lbs, lean, and even starting to turn green. LOL!!! Just a big Kawi lover my 10r can't get enough of me!
  5. well said... This year when I get to practice qt's I'll be sure to measure my rate by my increase in entry speed and a later turn point! Good things to focus on I think in bringing up speed in the corner. I love esses and quick steering inputs, really gets the blood flowing!!!
  6. practice, read the twist books, get some lap time and practice...Also read on here. I'm a new member here and at zx-10r.net. Forums are great ways to learn!!!
  7. funny, but now BMW has the new S1000RR!!!
  8. I'm looking for a 6r right now for the track. In time you will feel more comfortable. Nice to meet you and keep the kawi's a coming!!!
  9. Throttle rule number 1 is very important. I think stuman is right in trying to relax a little more. I know after I caught myself with a similar situation running wide just relaxing more the next time around always helps!
  10. Very well said, I believe that to be what Keith is describing!!!
  11. I don't look at mine like stated earlier except if your talking about what was said earlier about using it as a measuring tool of improvement when you have the time to take a glance. I don't look at my speedo and not too much of the tach if I can help it. I like to get intune with my machine and listen and feel...
  12. Just reading these entries Keith you make me want to leave the library and my homework to just go ride!!!
  13. So well said to the fullest!!! I don't have a preference for turns except that I like to take them. I'm getting to the stages in my riding where I'm requesting more feedback from the bike and what my inputs are achieving. I believe when I start to become more in depth with this art I may have this problem arise, but for now I just like taken both!
  14. Keith I've just finished reading and rereading twist I, II, and soft science this long winter and still have no plans of putting them down just yet. The instruction I've gotten from those books I've already started putting to use and great use at that. The crashing subject I believe you put a spin on it that some riders will notice next time they ride and crash and think a little more about it. I'm new to the forum, but will be reading pages cover to cover to build skill! This is my first official post so see you around corner guru!!!
  15. I love my 10r. I'm currently selling it though to help partially fund two track machines. I have the day off so time to search this forum and see what I find!!! Also glad to see so many 10r fans!!!
  16. Hi everyone, brand spankin new to the forum. I'm sure this is a great resource and network medium to learn and grow.
