  1. So even the GP tires being run at a GP pace in the dry cooled down enough to cause a crash? How much would normal rubber cool off at say the end of a straight? Enough to warrant a change in riding? If so, what changes? A good observation Kevin.I thought Crutchlow and Pol Espargaro braked a little hard, got the rear wheel in the air [ very slightly ] and tried to turn while on the brakes resulting in the front tucking in.Confirmed by a slo mo replay of Pol's crash.
  2. Can some one try and explain why there were so many riders crashing while braking straight up at the Phillip Island GP?
  3. The 2015 S1000RR is supposed to be an HP4, sort of.Hot pressures are certainly more accurate to start with. You may be surprised how much you can drop the pressure and still make it work.
  4. I see.I appears i may have to ,manage a good gauge next time around.I am getting some gear from the states and thought i could manage this, but oh well. Thanks
  5. Hi Guys, Can someone recommend a highly accurate but inexpensive tire pressure gauge? it should also be sturdy and portable. Thanks
  6. Update - Saw the Motegi Moto2 race and Rabat is most certainly lifting his outside foot off the peg as he turns in and puts it back on the peg after the bike has leaned about 30 degrees or so.Can someone try to explain why?
  7. Hehe CSmith....i would have like to see a picture.
  8. This gent claims " There are only a few turns in the USA where you can weight the outside peg, otherwise it is all weighting the inside peg ". Comments?
  9. That the knee is used to gauge lean angle seems to be an oft abused fact, with some riders grinding them into the pavement etc.Good to know that when used correctly, the knee pucks last awhile. Also if one side is wearing more than the other [ except in case of more turns in one direction than the other ] , what error in body position does that mean? Or are you more comfortable with turns in that direction?
  10. Hi Guys, How often do you have to replace your knee sliders? Any particular brand of knee sliders that work better/give you a better feel? Thanks
  11. A somewhat off topic post, but a rider testing the new Kawasaki H2 hit a bird at speed. Not pretty. http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/10/03/manufacturers/kawasaki/new-kawasaki-h2r-tops-210-mph/
  12. I once fell off a bicycle. It seemed so slow....like i fell a mile even though i fell three feet.I wonder if it is the adrenalin at that speed which causes time to slow? I had time to think " Aah...leaned it too much in the dirt. This is going to hurt, must take care to break the fall..." and a pile of other things.
  13. Even you must find this all very confusing Robert, and you are a computer man.
  14. I wonder if someone can come up with a wind chill factor chart....like they have in colder countries.A chart showing tire temperature with respect to temperature and wind speed.
  15. I haven't picked up neutral shifting clutchless.Might want to try that?
  16. Current easy to ride bike...like the CBR 600RR.You will be surprised how hard taming the latest and greatest over an 8 hour period can be lol.
  17. Hehe....Robert and i were discussing the H2 at length.The 300 HP is a track only brute.
  18. You guys may have a point. At one time, 80 kph meant the nuts and bolts would fall off the 12 hp two strokes that we had here.Now...130-140 kph on the newer four strokes seems a zen experience.I am sure as faster bikes land here, what was once a scary experience will be a calm stroll.

  20. You go into zen mode long before 155 mph...i have gone there at a little over 60.Just how hard you are foucsing on riding...
