  1. I have seen the Dave Moss videos but was looking for a more organized and detailed fashion of learning. Wonder if any books/dvd's are out on the subject?
  2. 5 years seems to be the oft quoted number. In theory, you could wear the carbon fibre/kevlar helmets all you life.Just replace the liner as needed. The polycarbonate and fiberglass shells are supposed to develop some kinda cracks/stress fractures as time passes [ supposedly ].
  3. Looking at tires can tell you a lot about the suspension settings, rider's style and throttle control etc. How do you look at tires and interpret wear patterns?
  4. Is the goal to aid the rider when he makes small miscalculations with his throttle control, or is it to replace his bad throttle control with electronics? THAT is the essence of it!! Well said.
  5. The circumference of your head and shape - Round, oval or in between is the first step. The crown of the head must fit properly first. The rest can be accommodated with cheek pads or such. The resident helmet experts can elaborate more.Usually, a good sales rep can look at your head and figure out what will fit nicely.
  6. How does the Aprilia RSV Factory compare to the S1000RR in terms of such adjustability....any ideas?
  7. Does setting the geometry etc for quicker turn in result in more tire wear?
  8. Comes up when you get on the gas/pull it up. What i meant was " Comes up solely as a result of throttle application ".
  9. Does picking up on the exit of the slow-medium fast corners help drive vs letting it come up on it's own?
  10. So Lorenzo and other Yamaha riders in MotoGP tend to use wide swooping arcs to maximize the corner speed which is a Yamaha strength. Marquez and other Honda riders will pick the bike up onto the meat of the tire for better drive which is a Honda strength. My question is - In a scenario like a one make race where everyone has the same machinery [ CBR 250 ] is it better to utilize the picking up style for more drive than the others? Or should you find more corner speed by leaning and hanging off more and utilizing wide lines for more radius? Further, can the picking up style be used to conserve edge grip? This question is more pertinent to small, agile bikes making upto 50 HP....essentially MOTO3 kinda bikes.
  11. http://blog.motorcycle.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/06_italia_infographics-633x302.jpg 323 meters apparently.Interesting info there,,,,,
  12. We run between 30-32.Lower in the monsoon for grip.
  13. The Phillippines have a good racing culture....ask some of the local underbone guys/participate in their races.
  14. Yeah...remember when i first saw this on you tube....lol.
  15. This is interesting info, thanks. But how did he get the 300 metre number? Was it from Mugello?
  16. Yes, it is called the inner bootie....which struck me as slightly naughty.Oh well.
  17. Just saw it, totally agree. This is what MotoGP should be like!!
  18. You may want to stay away from the more loud and screaming exhausts. They get annoying pretty fast. A mellow exhaust whose baffles you can remove for the track should do nicely.
  19. I remember asking this question and the answer was that it takes a darned great amount of force to lose the front while doing a quick turn....so almost never in the dry.
  20. My my Robert, very dapper i must say. The stock exhaust looks out of place though.
  21. Well the " Air " model of the vertigo's should serve nicely in the hot climate here. But for the torsional flex of the Sidi, i would very much like to go for them. The A* superior protection seems to have been the deciding factor. After all, that is the point behind purchasing them.
