  1. Pics or it did not happen!! Also very good advice from HF there regarding adjusting sag at the dealership.
  2. Try and understand what RChase is saying.....it is more fun to eat some bacon rather than lettuce. Is it good for you or bad for you? Your call. RChase does not advocate gluttony with respect to " Bacon " [ risk ] but prefers bacon to lettuce [ safe choice ].
  3. I guess one of the coaches can help you out regarding the discount. It would probably help if one of them [ Cobie perhaps, or someone at the office ] got in touch with your dealer directly for quicker results. Regarding breaking in, if you have some friends you can trust, the break in can be done fairly easily in days or a week at most.I recommend you change oil within the first 50 km, then at 150-200 km, and again at 500km.Any debris should be cleared out quickly. Also, take the bike upto 70-80% of the redline in say second, shift up, again 70-80% of the redline, shift up etc upto 4th or 5th gear. Then [ Important part ] shut off the throttle and let the bike slow down via engine breaking.Downshift without blipping the throttle all the way to 1st.Repeat this process until the first 50km.Change oil, repeat this process until 150 km [ 100 miles say ] and then run in as normal. This process helps set the rings best.
  4. Funny video on cornering. It is in French but you can turn on English subs via the options.
  5. Interesting info.I wonder HF, if you could have a thread where you put up pics of race weekends? It would be interesting for members to see race bikes etc.
  6. Questions about helmets or about Schuberth products exclusively? Either way, it would be great to have an expert to talk to....i must get around to getting a good helmet myself.
  7. Great pic Dylan.Interesting to note how far forward he is hanging off.
  8. The Cbr 250 is a good touring bike only. The suspension is way too soft for any track use.The engine is also meant for smooth power delivery in the city and is neither as powerful nor rev friendly as the Ninja 250 was. Do have a look at the Ninja 300.It even has a slipper clutch and sufficient power.Very smooth engine and you can do a fair bit of track riding on it stock.
  9. In the dry, mistakes can he corrected/held without too much trouble. The same mistakes in the wet will cost you dearly in time and places. It seems that the man who can do well in the wet has a significant advantage over the ones who don't, and it is something they would want to work on.Wonder if the coaches have any insight on how to work on racing in the wet?
  10. I wonder if flat tracking can help more than trail riding for improving track times?
  11. Im also interested in knowing the pros AND cons of dirt riding in relation to racing , esp on tarmac/asphalt surfaces. In addition to this, i would also like to know what aspect of dirt riding if improved, benefits what aspect of your track riding.
  12. With a bosch ABS system, though the factors you pointed out - Grade of Abs and how the rider uses and assists it are spot on. The point i am trying to make is, the abs is a useful safety feature but not a substitute for proper skill and knowledge, on the street or track. Besides, a system that is not upto scratch can cause further problems.
  13. What about in the wet? A lot of guys lose the front end under braking and turn in.Can going about without using the brakes help you make the turns without crashing if it is a new track/your are inexperienced/on slicks?
  14. There is absolutely no doubt hanging off works.I wanted to know how badly it affects your riding when you can't do it or not hang off fully as in CSmith's experience. Deviating slightly, has anyone tried a lap without using the brakes or a minimal usage only? If you are racing in the wet, are you better served by no brakes/minimal brake? What are the time differences?
  15. Go down to an R6 if you are sure you will not be moving up to a litre bike from there. The Triumph Daytona 675 R is a great trackbike also. I would stick with what you have and learn away rather than change bikes.
  16. As a coach I often ride around at a good pace without hanging off at all; if I don't NEED to hang off, I don't - it is too fatiguing to do it if you don't need it. This is what i was looking for.I have seen people hang off for the simplest of corners....something that attracts unwanted attention from the police and public. How do you decide when you need to hang off, and when you don't? It appears each corner needs hanging off, but which ones really do? Ktk ace, there is no need for ridicule.I have watched the Dvd and the part you refer to is when they compare the correct body position, and how being crossed up hinders cornering.etc.
  17. Hmm....what about racers before Roberts started hanging off?
  18. Can one of the coaches/forum members perform an experiment - A lap hanging off and a lap not hanging off, and the time difference. I wish to know how much difference hanging off makes. Alternately, if you have already done such an experiment, do share the results. Some people in the past did not hang off, wonder how they got on?
