  1. The pro bike is set up well.Good throttle control. The rider accelerated a lot when leaned over.
  2. Hey Buddy, Looks like your rebound is off whack - A little too fast, and the tire is kinda skipping along the surface of the track. Going out on a limb here, but there may be an issue with compression/preload/spring as well.Mostly compression. Do you have high and low speed adjustment?
  3. I suppose most of this theory goes out of the window when you are charging around the mountain?
  4. Very good, the graph makes sense now - The difference between regular hang on and GP hang on at GP angles.
  5. Good point. I am interested to know if anyone observed the twp variants of knee drag in the video. What are the pros and cons, and what is your method?
  6. If i may, watching Moto3 gave me an idea of when it is useful to get your knee down and when you don't.They can't afford to stick their knee out for no reason as they would lose too much corner speed.Only on certain corners, they do and on some their legs are tucked right in despite carrying a " Knee Drag " worthy lean. The use of getting your knee down is best demonstrated by Lorenzo IMO [ The cleanest shall we say, almost all GP riders do this ] He will have his knee out all the way even as he is just tipping in and say at 30 degrees lean. Then, His leg FOLDS inward as the bike leans fully and his knee will be tucked right under his elbow. One variant can be observed at 30 sec ish and another at 40 sec ish in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPV5Lg9IN7Y
  7. You want the front wheel just skimming the ground if you wheelie.
  8. Slow and steady wins the race remember? I would like to pick one particular rider and then dissect his Body Position. What about Stoner?
  9. A point about using the knees to hang off.....notice how GP riders don't use their outside knee but rather the thigh part? See how Rossi's knee is not holding on to the tank but the inner thigh is? I have observed this among all GP riders. The knee sticks out, pointing outward at the sky or something.
  10. I wonder if he was trying to throw people off lol.
  11. Scwantz himself said he did not like to move about much, and also did not tuck in quite as much to better see forward. Guess that went out of the window in the final lap lol...
  12. Agree with the 500 highside part. However, some people like Schwantz did not move around much and were fairly relaxed. Some others were quite animated. How these compare must be seen.
  13. Would be great to have a thread where we dissect the body positions of GP riders.Ball is your court, oh meticulous Eirik.
  14. That style did not help him in GP.I think Keith said this somewhere.
  15. Didn't he move around on the bike wayy too much?
  16. Hehe....strange are the ways of the motorbike. I still maintain a lighter and smaller rider can learn how to get around those disadvantages but a heavy rider cannot deal with his extra bulk.
  17. The airbags are internal and deploy the moment the sensors sense the rider is in an unnatural position.Like off the bike.
  18. Trail braking is useful anywhere.
  19. Very good for the street. 1. Do not put any pressure on the gear lever before clutchless shifts.Keep your foot ready, but DO NOT pressure the lever beforehand. It causes wear on the gearbox. 2. Weight the outside peg.The inside peg weighting i am skeptical about, because many GP riders get their foot off the inside peg and slide it on the ground.
