I think a " No Hands " drill might reinforce how important the legs are to hanging on...

That this momentary lifting off the pegs is not limited to Rabat, but also some other riders [ mostly Spanish ] is what gets me.I have seen Lorenzo do this very subtly as well. Interesting to note Rabat does not slide but rather lifts his bum from side to side.

I noticed Tito Rabat intentionally lift his outside foot off the peg as he turned in during the moto 2 race at Aragon.I had noticed some riders including Lorenzo do this but i dismissed it as them losing contact with the pegs. Any ideas as to why?

I know you can take both hands off the bars after you have finished steering, i was refering to how he didn't drop the camera lol.....

Many GP riders, especially those that came up racing dirt, like Nicky Hayden swear by the use of the rear brake.Tarmac only riders like Pedrosa don't bother with the rear though.

I apologize.I just saw the Misano GP and see you alluded to hid body position in that race.Yes, he hung off more than usual.

Wasn't Rossi the one who had the exaggerated body position in the first place? Remember then people thought he leaned the bike and hung off too much?

Besides stabilizing the bike under braking, helping the bike turn and backing it in, what other uses do you all know of?
-
Can we please have a discussion on the various techniques of using the rear brake to aid cornering/riding? I am very interested in this matter.

These are some funny anecdotes. In India there are so many accidents daily you can almost expect to see someone take a tumble.

I almost plowed into traffic at the lights cause i borrowed somebody's bike, and it had no brake fluid for the front brakes.Pulled the lever and there was nothing.Had to downshift though the box and nearly ran right into traffic. On that day, i learn't how much work the front brakes really do.Lol.....

Front Tyre Vs Rear Tire Under Braking.
Stroker replied to Stroker's topic in School Questions/General Discussion
Eirik's suspicions were correct. There is enough weight on the rear to get some braking out of it. -

Front Tyre Vs Rear Tire Under Braking.

Have a gander at the contact patches offered by the front and rear tires under the brakes, thanks to Lorenzo. The rear has hardly any, the front about half a foot long. -
How Do You Shift Without Bar Inputs?
Stroker replied to FieryRobot's topic in Cornering and Techniques
Correct, it should require barely any effort to shift. -
No, the point i was making is even they could benefit from CSS.Lol...

I have made an observation.Even GP riders bounce on the seat during transitions through the eses.

How Do You " Read " Tire Wear?
Stroker replied to Stroker's topic in School Questions/General Discussion
Simply - Tire pressures affect the shape of the tire, and how it deforms under load. -
How Do You " Read " Tire Wear?
Stroker replied to Stroker's topic in School Questions/General Discussion
Aahhh.....the tire refused to deform, leading to skipping. Were there any tears on the tires? Also post pics of the front tire. -
Gixxers tend to wreck easiest, Kawasaki's seem more resilient.
