  1. I was doing a trackday at JenningsGP and in turn 2 (a 100-110 mph fully pinned left hander) and had the front end start to sliding. I was leaned off the bike already, kept the throttle pinned and just pushed the bike away from me a bit to stand her back up and the front stopped sliding. The front sliding did change my line a hair as the rear never slid to match it but it was not enough to make me run wide or off the track. I know it scared the ###### out of me and I thought for sure it was going to low slide out on me but I guess I reacted fast enough. It is really only a corner when you are at speed which causes you to have to do a hard quick turn as it is more of a hitch then a corner. I am sure I would not have been able to save it as fast as i did or that I would not have had any warning from it if I was at full lean.
  2. Welcome Mike, you will love Barber it is amazing track. Throwing your bike around on barber is going to have you tired though, Barber is a bit more technical then it looks but a blast to ride.
  3. Unless I am following the person in front of me for a reason I prefer to be out front. It messes with my riding less.
  4. By riding only the same track all the time you would become comfortable and fast with the one track, but as a whole you would become a better overall rider by mixing it up and riding different tracks to experience more variety and challenges.
  5. When I was at the 2 day camp recently Keith said no, you can't flick it in to fast. The mistake he said people make is, they don't stop counter steering soon enough and literally drive themselves into the ground. So it is a steering error not a matter of throwing the bike into the corner to fast.
  6. For track only riding, it has less seams, less areas that can come apart. I'm more comfortable in one too. One thing that surpirses me is what guys do and don't wear under them. Bare flesh or t-shirts really aren't very good--one sticks to the suit. Inner liners like Kushitani or RS Taiichi (not sure on spelling), or Under Armour, lots of guys like those too. I wear both a full mesh liner on hot days, or top and bottom on cold days. Just this makes riding so much more comfortable! I wear jogging pants and an Under Armour long sleeve top which works great for not sticking to the leathers. Man it sucks to try and get out of them without it now. lol
  7. The closest track to me is like that. It is flat with nothing but open field right near the track. I personally use different marks on the track itself. Some of them are skid marks, some are gouges in the pavement from wrecks, some are just discolored spots. It definitely makes things different when it is all flat but if you look around enough you can find more then enough spots to use as reference points on a track.
  8. I am 6 ft 200lbs and wear a Alpinestars 48us and it fits great. It is a bit snug if I try to stand tall but once I am in the riding position it is perfect. I have worn both 1 and 2 piece suits and had a high speed get off in my 2 piece with no issues with it. Now I ride mostly track and have switched to a 1 piece. I know it is a mental thing but I do have to say I feel better in my 1 piece then my 2 piece.
  9. Jaybird, I had the same problem and when I started working on it I found that I was taking the attention off of my three step to focus on the front end. Once I realized that I was able to focus more on my three step and it helped me stop focusing on my front end feel and in turn also made me more comfortable with my front end. Do you know where you are pulling your attention from? Figuring out which of the other areas you are pulling from will help greatly in knowing how to get your attention off your front end and where it should be. Hope this helps brother.
  10. Cant go wrong with any of those! Which video do you speak of? Don't have a release date yet guys. He has a lot of work and things he's doing on it, every now and again someone gets teased (by being shown some footage). There is this one shot, my eyes about popped out of my head...it's one frame only, hope it makes the final cut. Yeah, I'm mean, not going to say what it is (also not sure if I can, so I'll use that excuse). C Nothing like a good tease.
  11. I am looking forward to watching this race if it happens.
  12. OMG.....I think I'm going to pop a gasket! Just what the doctor ordered to get us through the winter. Man, that would make for a great race to watch!!! I hope it all comes together.
