  1. Harry, You have a good library of material there, plenty to set you up for the school. Any questions on that material, get up here and pop them out. One thing that I think happens is guys view learning as "take it in, listen, watch." I think learning is a bit more active, so get up here and get into it! Best, Cobie
  2. B/man, Born again teenage!!!! T hat is a hundred times better than "mid-life crisis" I hear all the time. My standard response is I've been having a mid-life crisis since I was 16, 34 years later, still having it. 'Course, I also tell me kids I have a short attention span Best, Cobie
  3. Rainman--any suggestions on the pics issue? Did you try and upload it on the student photos section? I'll check on this in the mean time, and welcome aboard! Best, Cobie
  4. Slow-- Ok, in your words, what do you recall as the main point of knee to knee? Then, what do you recall as the point of hip flick? Whatever, little or much, just give an idea of what you got from those 2 (can be short). Best, CF
  5. Rumor is that Misti might make a few days with us this year...we'll see! CF
  6. I would think to make it viable for others to be able to supply bikes, and competively so. CF
  7. I hadn't been in a few years, for sure the reason was the BMW. It got a LOT of attention at the BMW booth. So many guys came over and after finding out about the bike, were blown away at it's cost. It is state of the art, and priced right in there with the other liter bikes, $13,800. From what I heard, a guy snuck the bike out, let a mag dyno it against the GSXR-1000, and it was like 12hp up from the Suzuki. Pretty sure they weren't happy with that guy. A minor point, it has steel braided brake lines on it stock. There are tons of nice things about the bike, I'll stick them up here as I think of them (or learn them ). Best, CF
  8. I was thinking of the club circuit as the short one but I suppose it could also be woodlands. I don't recall the names, but when i was last there (2002?), we didn't use the mountain or what i assume is the woodllands--run off is an issue, there was little in a few spots. CF
  9. RR, The whole fleet will be the 1000's, and all the other training bikes will be BMW also, total switch. We think we are getting the loaded version of the bike, with traction control and ABS. They use the same sensors. The only other real add-on is the quick shifter, not sure if we are getting those or not. Spent some time with the BMW people at the show in Long Beach, the more I learn, the more I'm impressed. Here is a tid-bit: the key is what you use to adjust the front suspension. CF
  10. R Sole, Sounds good. I know what you mean about c/s. When I finally tested it and realized it works on bicycles (at any speed, ever very slow) i was amazed. Best, Cobie
  11. Can't see anything wrong with going easy on the street. It will be kind a cool when your friends finally go to the track and you scoot by them easily. Is that too shallow of me? A little one upsmanship. CF
  12. Hi All, For the locals going to the show, Keith is going to be heading down, might be there all 3 days, have a look at the BMW booth. I'm going down with him tonight, Pete and Mikey Pesicka will be down there all 3 days Come over and say hi if you come down! Best, Cobie
  13. Hi Choc, CSS Europe travels all over the place, you can access their site directly from ours: www.superbikeschool.com CF
  14. Hi Kevin, I know you have been welcomed, so I'll just add to that, and hope we see you up and posting. Best, Cobie
  15. Ya think I should hang off more? The more I read about hanging off, the more it talks about getting the crack off the seat. These ones I'm barely getting one cheek. Looks just fine to me too. We often have to fix more problems than the hanging off helps. There are some little items to address, but those would have to be done in person. Best, CF ps--welcome to the board.
  16. The bike seems to be just awesome. Keith has ridden a few of the '10 models, and liked this one the best. BMW is really on board with this, and very enthusisastic in their support. The big bike show in the US is in town this weekend, and we are headed down there to be at the BMW booth. Personally, looking foward to spending some time on the bike and working with the students on them too. CF
  17. BMW came on in a big way this year. The new S1000RR is the talk of the town, and our experience with it so far has been great. Keith has ridden this and some of the other liter bikes this year, let me now say he really liked this one, and I'll get more info (make sure I'm not saying something I shouldn't). The students will have access to the S1000's, and we will also be taking our training bikes (Lean and Slide Bike, Brake Rig, Video bike, etc.) and changing them over. Really, really looking forward to this change over! Cobie
  18. So, what do we call Jon Groom? Gramps seems lacking a little imagination. And, how about Ibbott? Idiot doesn't really cut it, we need something more fitting...anyone?
  19. Hi Skin, Yeah, been out, a bit long in responding. Derbi in Texas, bet there aren't a lot of those! CF
  20. Well, since I don't Twitter yet (barely made it to Facebook, and just skipped Myspace altogether), here's the latest. Finished a great day at Laguna, first day of the 2-day camp, weahter was postcard stuff. Then had a day off and went and ate all I could at a good Thanksgiving feast. Then I went back for seconds. Then dessert. All the self control of an 18 year old at a brothel. 2nd day was a little cool and wet at times. Didn't rain hard, but did a few times. I spent the day in the paddock running guys on the brake rig. If you guys have never been on that, should do it. There is more technique to braking than many think, it's not just how large your huevos are. Now that I think of it, we are going to have a new brake bike for 2010, and it will be German CF
  21. Hey Rocket, We had been waiting to get some details sorted out with BMW. Normally, the earliest we can release the schedule is about the week before Turkey day, we are just getting everything finalized at that time. CF
  22. Teg and Skin, Thanks, good to hear that. We don't usually get that kind of riding history here. Rode a mini bike a few times in '73, my grandfathers Honda Trail 70. He kept it in case he was out in the boondocks camping and something broke. It was a hoot, rode it as hard as I could whenever I saw him, no helmet, probably didn't even have gloves on. CF
